In Our Community

Many years ago, the ownership of Sunrise Toyota joined with the local chapter of the 'Big Brothers Big Sisters' organization in Abbotsford. While much has changed in the Abbotsford area during the 20+ years we have maintained our partnership with the BBBSFV, the needs of the families within our community have not. Many of us personally know someone who has donated their time as a 'Big' brother or sister, or perhaps benefitted from the support of BBBSFV's charitable efforts. As a major contributor towards the annual BBBSFV Charity Golf Event fundraiser, Sunrise Toyota has had the opportunity to see first-hand the support within our community to assist those who will benefit from it.

Sunrise Toyota has also been a proud supporter of the 'Abbotsford Food Bank' for a number of years through donations made on behalf of our customers, our participation in the annual Fraser Valley Auto Mall Christmas Food Bank drive, as well as staff involvement in the Food Bank's annual 'Brown Bag Lunch' event.
The Abbotsford Food Bank is more than just a place for the less fortunate to obtain food donations. While the number one focus is helping people by providing temporary and supplemental food assistance, they do a lot more! They are involved with the Christmas Bureau, operate a free dental program, participate in 'Basics for Babies' and Extreme Weather assistance and much, much, more.

Starting this year, Sunrise Toyota has accepted a new challenge to help make a difference! In 2007 the founding board members of the 'Run for Water' Society conceptualized a unique event to be hosted in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The vision was to stage a top tier internationally recognized running event that would attract a wide range of participants and athletes and, at the same time, raise awareness - and funds - for people in the developing world who lack one of life's basic necessities - clean water. As one of many local & national sponsors for the annual Run For Water program, we believe we are giving back with our community, by doing our part through this outstanding event, and to help those who truly need it. During this 3-year partnership, we are very pleased to have our Run for Water partners promoting this event throughout the Lower Mainland in a Leased 2012 Toyota Prius V community vehicle, purchased from Sunrise Toyota. Congratulations to the 4500+ participants, contributors and volunteers who generated an event-record of over $260,000 during the event this year!
