Roy Yakashiro was an automotive technician in the early 1960's when he had a vision to build a family business with a virtually unknown product from across the Pacific Ocean.

An oil crisis, import restrictions and stiff competition meant that customer care had to be first and foremost if the dealership was to survive.

The success of Sunrise can be placed solely on the pride and ownership that Roy, then sons Bryan, and now David have instilled in their employees. The success can also be attributed to the dealership's philosophy that a business is only as strong as the community it serves.
